چکیده

Plasma parameters of radiofrequency discharge generated at low pressures in an argon-oxygen mixture addressed for biomedical surface sterilization have been optimized. Numerical results illustrate the density distributions different species and electron temperatures during electrical process. The current acting abnormal range decreases higher oxygen gas flow rates. temperature electrons drops with pressure while it rises by adding oxygen. Nevertheless, displays adverse trend, exhibited electron’s temperature. average particle reactive is enhanced Ar/O2 compared to He/O2, which ensures a better efficiency sterilizing bacteria than He/O2. impact addition on reveals raised atom reduction metastable atoms. A pronounced production atoms achieved frequency domains. This makes our findings promising leads optimal parameter discharges used being 30% ratio 0.3 Torr pressure.

Surface Decontamination by Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma

Background: Dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), a source of non-thermal plasma, is used in surface decontamination. Objective: To study the effect of DBD plasma treatment, we evaluated the effect of plasma exposure time on inactivation of Bacillus subtilis. Results: Applying the DBD plasma to the culture of B. subtilis caused complete sterilization of the surface without any thermal effects. In...

Influence of operating parameters on surface properties of RF glow discharge oxygen plasma treated TiO₂/PET film for biomedical application.

In this paper, a thin transparent titania (TiO2) film was coated on the surface of flexible poly(ethylene terephthalate) (PET) film using the sol-gel method. The surface properties of the obtained TiO2/PET film were further improved by RF glow discharge oxygen plasma as a function of exposure time and discharge power. The changes in hydrophilicity of TiO2/PET films were analyzed by contact angl...

Effect of Dielectric and Liquid on Plasma Sterilization Using Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma

Plasma sterilization offers a faster, less toxic and versatile alternative to conventional sterilization methods. Using a relatively small, low temperature, atmospheric, dielectric barrier discharge surface plasma generator, we achieved ≥ 6 log reduction in concentration of vegetative bacterial and yeast cells within 4 minutes and ≥ 6 log reduction of Geobacillus stearothermophilus spores withi...
